Austral Sans is a hand-drawn layered font designed by Antipixel. Based in the Slab version, it is part of the Austral type family. This sans makes your work unique & noteworthy, because the possibilities of combinations of textures & styles create distictive results. Austral Sans comes in three weights, Regular, Light & Thin, which all share the same crooked look with irregular strokes and outlines.

The irregular strokes of this font are inspired by the silhouettes of mountains, treelines, old broken wood, among others.
The textures this font offers are inspired by rust, water and humidity drip marks, dirt, maps, road lines, and many other objects and textures I found from July 2015 to April 2016, living in San Juan, Argentina, and traveling to Mendoza, Córdoba and Monte Hermoso (Buenos Aires).
These images were taken by Julia Martinez Diana as inspiration for Austral during the first stage of the creative process. The design of outlines and textures were inspired by these landscapes.
This theme also had a huge role in Austral's identity, and therefore in the design of the imagery. Travel & journeys were used as the main topic of this font's language.
